Job Description Apply: Senior P&C Reinsurance Analytics Actuary / Cat Mod
Our client is a global reinsurer operating across both life and health and property and casualty. They are renowned for their very high solvency ratio, low management expense ratio and managed to achieve a profit in 2018 despite high natcat activity. They have multiple offices around the world and a global portfolio in both mature and high growth emerging markets.
As part of their continued drive for excellent, they have created a new position for a qualified actuary within their underwriting department. The role will see the successful candidate in charge of 3 things:
- Treaty pricing for proportional and non-proportional property and casualty reinsurance treaties around the world (covering both mature and emerging markets, incl Asia)
- Reinsurance cat modelling, natcat exposure management/modelling and quantifying the outcome of natcat events and their impact on clients/cedants
- Participate in business development and strategic opportunities, interact with clients and brokers etc
The client is looking for an experienced reinsurance professional with experience of either a) pricing of reinsurance treaties using multiple methods or b) analysis of natural catastrophe (natcat) risks using RMS/AIR software. Both would be excellent
The following would be an added plus but are NOT essential:
- Reinsurance experience from US/European/UK reinsurance markets
- Broking experience
- Capital modelling or reserving
- Actuarial qualification (fellowship preferred but not essential)
- Major European languages
