Job Description Apply: Reinsurance Actuary
I am looking for a driven individual to join a leading Insurance company as a Reinsurance Actuary. This is an incredible opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified actuary, to work for an extremely progressive business. This company is currently going through expansion and is looking for someone to come and join their team in London.
As the Reinsurance Actuary, you will be involved with assessing reinsurance transaction flows, managing the tender process with reinsurance partners, working closely with the deal team and support with the overall bidding process. Along with playing a leading role in the structuring of asset-intensive reinsurance transactions across existing and new reinsurance counterparties.
The company are looking for an individual who is keen to work in Insurance and has some knowledge of the Bulk Purchase Annuity market or defined benefit pensions. They offer flexible working but are looking for someone with drive who wants to come in 3 days a week and be around the team to develop their skills and broaden their horizons.
Some of your Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers for the development of new reinsurance framework agreements and structures
- Explore and develop structuring opportunities across reinsurance, investment assets and equity release mortgages to support annuity new business and capital mitigation initiatives
- Work with stakeholders to manage reinsurer counterparty credit limits and establish netting and collateral arrangements as required
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate outcomes across risk, finance and operations
Key Skills:
- Qualified OR part qualified Actuary
- Strong mathematical/actuarial and excel skills
- Experience with Annuity business and reinsurance
- Positive attitude and behaviours, and an ability to challenge constructively, and influence outcomes where appropriate
- A minimum of 2 years experience in pensions or insurance
- Knowledge of the Bulk Purchase Annuity market or defined benefit pensions
