Job Description Apply: Protection Pricing Actuary
Goodman Masson are working with a Mutual Insurance Society who are looking for a Qualified Actuary to join the Product Commercials team on a permanent basis. The role will report to the Protection Commercials Lead and be focused on managing the pricing and wider commercials of life insurance products.
As an important member of the team, you will influence the pricing approach for the Protection business and be responsible for driving innovative changes to commercial analyses and team processes.

About the role
- Set and deliver pricing strategies for the Protection business
- Carry out financial analysis using complex actuarial and analytical techniques to support the Product Commercials team, Proposition and Distribution teams, or wider business planning and other activities as required
- Challenge and make improvements and efficiencies to data, processes, procedures, and documentation to make them more accurate and/or efficient
- Provide specialist advice and interpretation of data and results to colleagues and senior managers across the department and the wider business
- Write and present reports to colleagues and senior managers across the department and the wider business
About you
- Qualified Actuary (FIA or FFA) with relevant professional experience and an excellent understanding of the actuarial concepts and techniques required to fulfil the role
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with colleagues and senior managers
- Highly numerate and excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent understanding of life insurance products including competitors’ products
- Experience of life insurance pricing and reinsurance analysis desirable, with experience of using Radar software an advantage
- Proficiency in using actuarial modelling software, such as MG-ALFA, along with experience using SQL, R or Python desirable
