Job Description Apply: Pricing Actuary (Biometrics)
Goodman Masson are searching for an exceptional individual to join our client's Pricing division in a senior capacity, focusing primarily on supporting the expansion of their Longevity line of business. While the primary responsibility will lie within the Biometrics and Inforce Management team, the successful candidate will also be expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire Pricing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analysing client experience, maintaining a repository of results, and utilizing data for quoting, basis development, and valuation assumption setting
- Enhancing and maintaining experience analysis tools and developing efficient systems and methodologies to maximize insights
- Engaging with clients to optimize the value of our in-force portfolio and demonstrating the pricing impact of underwriting rules through application and experience data analysis
- Ensuring timely delivery of Longevity-related tasks and effectively utilizing policy data for efficient analyses
- Developing a holistic understanding of the Pricing process, mentoring junior team members, and playing a senior role in team development
- Enhancing processes, creating tools to support digitization, experience analyses, and pricing capabilities, and facilitating knowledge sharing across the Pricing division
- Participating in cross-team projects and providing support on experience analyses and projects for the Protection line of business as needed
Key Skills and Attributes:
Essential
- Experience or familiarity with Longevity business line, particularly from an experience analysis or process perspective
- Strong analytical skills applicable to data interpretation within the organization and client businesses
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access, with a good grasp of R, Python, and/or SQL
- Clear and effective communication across various audiences
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong organizational and planning skills with both lateral and logical thinking abilities
Desirable
- Background in Insurance/Reinsurance
- Experience with Pensions and Annuities
- Proficiency in Power BI
- Previous experience in line management
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Work experience in an actuarial field
- Nearly Qualified/Qualified actuary
