Job Description Apply: Life Senior Actuarial Analyst
Goodman Masson are working with a global life insurer who is searching for part-qualified to nearly-qualified actuaries with UK Life insurance experience to join their specialist teams. This will be a role to gain a variety of skills that can open doors into different types of roles in the future.
Rotations are 18 months each and the roles begin in one of the 4 areas below. After you can move into their other specialist areas (not restricted to the ones below).
Bulk Annuities
This insurer has a diverse portfolio and the demand for bulk annuities is growing.
Derivatives
This insurer has created their new hedging and derivatives function.
Great for those who like insurance investment.
Valuation
Understanding the intricacies involved on the balance sheet and income statement, which will give you insight into how insurers work
Chief Actuary team
This is the closest that you can get to a project-based role, at the junior level in a life insurer. Some of the functions/processes that you will help review/oversee include:
- Methodology and reporting
- Regulatory review
- Internal model
- Pricing and reinsurance
- Risk Management
- Staff development
