Job Description

Our client is seeking a qualified life actuary (or talented risk specialist qualified by experience) to provide support the independent challenge and reporting of financial risk exposures, ensuring that these risks are appropriately identified, assessed, controlled, monitored and reported.

In this exciting career opportunity, you will take responsibility for identifying, analysing and reporting on Financial Risks including market, credit and liquidity risk against the firm's Risk Appetite.

You will lead the development of the oversight of the Financial Risk of Climate Change, supported by other members of the Risk team.

You will also play a leading role in the ORSA process, including the specification of stress testing and scenario analyses to be performed by the 1st line Actuarial teams in Finance.

In addition, you will perform 2nd line Internal Model Validation activity in relation to Financial Risk, taking responsibility for management of the Validation Plan and all communications with the 1st line.

With a strong understanding of financial risk and capital management principles and techniques, the successful candidate will possess a proven understanding of market, credit, insurance and liquidity risk types and risk mitigation approaches.

You will also have a deep understanding of regulatory context for operation of risk management within Solvency II.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including influencing, negotiation, presenting and report writing, also essential.
