Job Description Apply: Corporate Actuary (Longevity)
The role reports into the Longevity Director, Corporate Actuarial, who leads the Europe Longevity Reporting team. This team is responsible for the financial reporting of the Europe Longevity in-force business, which has underlying liabilities in excess of £20bn.
The team is primarily responsible for the calculation, documentation and communication of quarterly US GAAP, Solvency II, Economic Capital, US Statutory and IFRS results. Additionally, there are exciting challenges ahead with the introduction of IFRS17, an overhaul of USGAAP standards and the adoption of new systems within the business.
The role is varied and dynamic, and there are several different projects and ad-hoc pieces of work you may be involved with, for example:
- The annual business planning process
- Implementing new treaties into our actuarial model
- Development and improvements of actuarial modelling software
- Running stresses and sensitivities as part of our annual ORSA
- Process improvements, and developing and improving reporting methods
- Collateral validation and monitoring
- Data Cleanses and in-force treaty management
The client is looking for a candidate with a strong technical background who can quickly learn new skills, but who will also challenge and improve the existing processes.
The team works closely together and with other teams in the Europe Business Unit including Finance, Operations, Pricing and Marketing. Team-work. A collaborative and proactive attitude is, therefore, a must for the role.
