Consultant/Snr Consultant/Assistant Manager Big 4
Job Description Apply: Consultant/Snr Consultant/Assistant Manager Big 4
Becoming a qualified actuary is challenging. The combination of working full time whilst sitting exams is tough with the additional pressure to get good exposure to a variety of work. Without a doubt, getting a wide breadth of experience across the actuarial function will give you more options as a qualified actuary, so finding the right employer to support you with this is key.
As part of the Life Insurance team within the Big 4, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of businesses including insurers, reinsurers and mutuals as well as getting experience with protection, annuities and with profits. Rather than on 18 month rotations, you will be working on interesting and unique projects from day one such as mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, part VII transfers, investment and transformation projects. You will also be at the centre of discussions around regulatory changes such as IFRS17 and join debates on climate change and longevity. Full study support is offered to those still taking exams and you’ll be part of a large team of students and nearly / newly qualified actuaries who can provide support and advice.
As well as expanding your technical knowledge you will develop your softer skills such as stakeholder management, presenting, challenging and learn how to be a true problem solver while collaborating with some of the most influential and talented people in the industry.
To be considered, you will be either newly qualified or making strong progress through your life insurance papers with exposure to the main actuarial functions such as reporting, risk or modelling. Someone with a can-do attitude who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes ownership of their work will be a good match.
