Job Description Apply: Commercial Proposition Actuary
Goodman Masson are working with a London based life insurer who are seeking to hire a very commercially minded life insurance actuary to support their commercial director in optimising their offering to the market. This is a multifaceted and newly created position that sits between 2 large teams (pricing and business development) in a stand-alone capacity in better defining and marketing their offering to their clients, whilst developing new suggestions to improve it. Working for a BPA de-risking business, you will lead the delivery of proposition developments from the ideas stage through to delivery into BAU. You will have a strong grasp of Solvency II capital requirements and reinsurance arrangements. This will require a unique blend of technical and project management skills, drawing on subject matter experts from across the business and externally as appropriate.
Your role will include the working up of options, requirements and potential solutions; refinement, assessment, analysis and delivery across the business. You will have excellent visibility with the senior management team and the opportunity to present your ideas to various committees. You will be part of a small proposition development team but will collaborate frequently with the DB pricing, business development and operations teams, as well as other actuarial teams across the business.
This would suit an outgoing and commercial actuary with excellent project management skills. Prior knowledge of annuity/longevity products or just of product development with other products would be very beneficial.
