Job Description Apply: Commercial Pricing Actuary–Nearly/Newly Qualified
Are you a Qualified / Nearly Qualified Actuary looking to expand your knowledge and skill-set within the Life Insurance Sector? If so, this role may be for you!
This role backs the Commercial team in shaping product and marketing strategy and handling pricing for new and existing opportunities. It allows the individual to contribute to innovative propositions in the UK market and engage with new distribution channels. The role may also involve being a key contact with partners and reinsurers during product development.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance in-house tools for analyzing closed book portfolios
- Develop and maintain pricing policies, including fair value assessment and customer value
- Analyze and recommend improvements for closed book outcomes (customer and commercial)
- Conduct open book commercial analysis to align on-sale product range with objectives
- Analyze and support new opportunities
- Propose and support key monitoring indicators within propositions
- Enhance the efficiency of pricing tools and processes
- Document pricing assumptions and results for sign-off by Senior Product & Pricing Manager/Pricing Actuary
- Engage with partners and reinsurers for new product development aligned with risk appetite
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Accounts, Actuarial, and Operations to ensure product alignment
- Support the development of commercial acumen across the department
Qualifications and Skills:
- Actuarial qualification (FIA/FFA) or nearly/newly qualified
- Advantageous to have experience in pricing savings, investment, pension, and protection products
- Strong willingness to learn and take on responsibilities
- Solid understanding of actuarial pricing techniques, structures, and models
- Excellent Excel and VBA skills
- Advantageous to have SQL programming skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
