Job Description Apply: Client Partner
A global reinsurer is seeking an experienced Business Development / Client Manager Actuary to take on the role of Client Partner to manage their key protection accounts in the UK and Ireland. You will make a significant contribution to shaping the individual and group protection portfolios and the wider enhancement of the Life & Health propositions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building strong client relationships and developing new business opportunities
- Working with our current clients (UK top 5+) and the wider L&H team to deliver research and data led insurance and reinsurance product innovation
- Managing the tender process for new and existing opportunities.
- Securing support from senior management and other stakeholders for business opportunities
- Successfully onboarding won business, working closely with accounts, legal, claims and underwriting
- Working closely with the dedicated pricing team to ensure product features, market and client specificities are fully understood and priced appropriately
- Managing your in-force portfolio to maintain profitability and to ensure it runs smoothly
- Input into the development of our propositions in individual and group life reinsurance
Qualifications & Skills:
- A qualified actuary with a track record in business development in the UK and/or Ireland with an active network
- 5 -10 years post qualification experience
- Extensive experience of long-term protection business lines for mortality and morbidity, preferably in a reinsurance context. Knowledge of short-term protection is a bonus
- An established network in the UK among decision makers and influencers in large UK insurers
- Relaxed communicator with clients as well as with internal stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities effectively as part of a multi-location team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an effective way
