Assistant Actuarial Manager - Capital Models
Job Description
The Capital Modelling team are responsible for building, maintaining and developing models used to calculate capital requirements and similar metrics for life insurance entities, as well as the Insurance Group as a whole.
A role that matters; you'll have a high degree of ownership over the production, analysis and reporting of key capital metrics e.g. ICA+, Solvency II, buffer capital analysis and capital forecasting
You'll undertake analysis and developments in the capital models (RiskAgility and the validation model) and proxy model fitting and validation.
You'll work in Capital projects – assessing ICA+/SCR impacts of projects via modelling work (including developments)
You'll also have Interaction with various stakeholders e.g. Assumptions & Methodology, Reporting, Capital Management, Actuarial Function Holders
You may have line management responsibility for 1-2 colleagues
You'll be a near-qualified actuary i.e. less than 4 exams/courses remaining with good technical skills (core actuarial, probability distributions/copula models, Solvency II). You'll have good spreadsheet development and VBA skills, and the ability to design highly efficient solutions to complex tasks.
You'll have an understanding of life insurance businesses, and product risk characteristics with a sound track record of managing large processes, delivering high-quality work within challenging deadlines
You'll have the ability to deliver clear explanations of technical concepts to specialist and non-specialist stakeholders
You may have experience with ICA+/SII SCR calculation, including simulation techniques and proxy modelling or experience with RiskAgility (or similar packages). You may also have experience with object-oriented software design (e.g. Java, C++, C#)
