Alternative Risk Actuary
Job Description
Are you a qualified non-life actuary (FCAS or career ACAS) and risk expert (with a particular interest in alternative risk) and with the ambition to join a leading international specialty insurer, based in the United States?
Then this is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and business-driven individual, with demonstrable knowledge of the specialty, commercial, and/or reinsurance sectors, to own the profitability analyses for complex insurance products using a blend of traditional reserving methods and stochastic modeling
In this key role, you will interpret, challenge, and incorporate alternative risk transfer pricing-model assumptions into profitability analyses.
You will also contribute to actuarial analytical evolution, which may include: range analysis; large loss modeling; portfolio optimization; trend analytics; and industry benchmarking.
With demonstrated working knowledge of reserving and risk analytics, the successful candidate will be proficient with data manipulation, modeling, and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Alteryx, MS Office, Power BI).
An exciting international career opportunity.
