Following an internal move, a Midlands based Life Insurer has created a vacancy within their technical services business for a team leader. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a team of 5 students as well as providing technical expertise and support to the actuarial team. This is a very prestigious opportunity within the business acting as the first point of contact for related queries, you be accountable for delivering various projects, resolving technical issues around the actuarial controls cycle as well as producing annual bonus statements and illustrations. Other duties include:
- Leading, developing and motivating your team, managing day to day duties and ensuring projects are delivered on time
- Responding to requests from business areas in relation to producing Annuity rate changes, Bonus rate changes system changes and developments
- Resolving technical issues around the actuarial control cycle such as building and maintaining spreadsheets and tools
- Supporting company-wide projects and initiatives
This role will suit a technically strong people manager with excellent leadership qualities. You will have in-depth knowledge of Life products and be comfortable to communicate with actuaries around the business on technical issues. You will be organised and approachable and able to manage multiple workstreams whilst building good relationships with stakeholders. A part-qualified actuary or stopped studier will be considered if you have the technical experience required.
