Job details
Lloyds Banking Group has over 30m customers and is one of the largest home insurers in the UK. Insurance is a key product range through which we aim to help Britain prosper and become the best bank for customers - last year alone we resolved over 140,000 claims.
To make Insurance work we need teams of highly capable and adept Actuaries to put our business into intricate models to ensure we’re accurately able to predict our capital requirements and price our products appropriately.
Our Capital team, based in Leeds, analyse key parameters, methodologies and assumptions with a view to assessing “1-200” liabilities, potential losses and financial risks to the Business. They set the plan for claims – taking information from catastrophe modelling and various other teams and turning our business into a Solvency II capital model.
In joining them you’d have a role that matters in providing detailed analysis of LBG data for the quantification of key business risks and calibrate to the standards required by our internal model governance and the Insurance regulator.
You’ll be developing key performance indicators and producing regular reports whilst having the bandwidth to make recommendations to change methods and approaches. We’ll also need you to have the gift of being able to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences/
We’re ideally looking for a part-qualified Actuary with a number Institute of Actuaries examinations passed (CT, CA or ST/SA etc.) and you’ll have had previous experience hopefully working with Actuarial systems such as Igloo and ResQ etc. along with advanced MS Excel skills (vLookups, named ranges etc.).
You'll have acquired knowledge of Capital model Risk and calibrations such as Reserving Risk, Premium Risk and Market Risk with a background in Pricing, Capital or Reserving. We do need you to come from a non-Life/General Insurance background and will expect to see this on applications.
In return we’ll offer you a competitive reward package including bonus, pension contribution and flex cash to spend on benefits to suit your lifestyle. Similarly we’ll offer you a generous study support package and career opportunities across the wider function.
So, apply now and see where a career with us can take you…
