Actuarial Consultant
Job Description Apply: Actuarial Consultant
Dynamo Analytics is an actuarial consultancy and software provider. Established in 2012 in London, the company has grown to a team of around 50 employees across the UK, France, Australia, South Africa and Norway.
There are two key components to the business; the consulting team advises our clients on actuarial, financial and statistical modelling, and our software team continues to develop our innovative enterprise modelling platform, Psicle. This allows us to provide our clients a unique and complementary offering of a software solution and actuarial advice, and our teams work closely together across geographies to deliver these.
Being a close-knit team allows everyone to have a truly meaningful role, with the opportunity to add real value to both our clients and our growing business. Our team tell us that the talent, quality and creativity of our people, and doing something worthwhile, is what makes Dynamo a rewarding and enjoyable place to work.
Our values are simple: Expertise, Entrepreneurialism, Selflessness, Heroism and “#ClientLove”. These basic attributes add up to create a driven, motivated and engaged team.
We are looking for an Actuarial Consultant to join us in our drive towards the transformation of actuarial and financial modelling.
You will be a qualified or nearly-qualified actuary with reserving experience and an interest in the use of technology to improve actuarial practice.
You will have proven experience of directly supporting internal or external clients to deliver on and improve their actuarial processes, be a great team player and have the ability to think creatively when providing advice and solutions.
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a growing global team with the autonomy from day one to deliver for our clients, and to be a key part of the unique, transformational journeys of our clients.
In supporting our clients and helping to grow the business, you will enjoy a career growth opportunity that extends beyond borders.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

- You are comfortable interacting with clients and have strong communication skills, sharing the results of your analysis to more senior members in the team, and to clients where necessary.
- You are a strong self-starter, and demonstrate curiosity and inquisitiveness in your work.
- You care deeply about helping the team succeed and about delivering a high-quality work product to the client.
- You have a strong appreciation for the role that technology can play in businesses, either through formal studies in computer science/data analytics, or through hobbies such as coding. Experience with SQL will be helpful.
- A consulting background would be an advantage, demonstrating the ability to assess and understand clients’ needs, carrying out the necessary research and data collection using appropriate techniques and actuarial principles.
- An understanding of IFRS 17, desirable.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A qualified or nearly-qualified Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
- An actuarial, mathematical, engineering, statistical or similar degree
- The permanent right to work in the United Kingdom
- A desire to shape the industry and achieve real change
TEAM FIT FOR ALL
We don’t have a typical ‘Dynamite’ type, and having an identikit team is not what we aspire to. However, there are a few things we do have in common.
- We value having deep expertise and broad knowledge of an area, and rely on our collective expertise to add value to our clients.
- #ClientLove instantly resonates with every one of us in the team, and we each strive to deliver the best possible experience for each client.
- We all want to be a part of something disruptive and new, and want to add our knowledge and skills to shape the way.
- Working with others is our preferred style of getting things done; we’re a tightly knit team and help each other constantly.
- We’re self-starters through and through.
- We value drive and tenacity, for the things our people are passionate about – we call this the Dynamo “Spark”.
If you feel that you could be a good fit for our team, please send your CV and a cover note to careers@dyna-mo.com.
Recruitment is a two-way process, so we’d love to know what you are looking for and why this could be the place for you.
