Job Description Apply: Senior Capital Management Actuary
Goodman Masson are working with a prestigious international insurer who are seeking to hire a commercially and strategically minded Senior Capital Management Actuary, to add value to their business performance and to advise their ExCo on key strategic decisions regarding capital allocations.
This is a very “forwards looking” role, and one that is less focused on detailed execution of model calibrations but rather seeks an actuary who can see the bigger picture, in terms of asset performance and relevance for a multitude of different business lines.
They are seeking someone who can optimise capital metrics (cash/dividend performance) for both the near term and long term. You will be involved in steering group-wide strategy and near term management actions, based on your advice and will help to support sustainable growth. This will include gaining exposure to corporate finance-related activities and advising on the potential capital implications for these. You will bring a source of ideas on how to optimise and allocate capital. You will optimise in the sense of generating ideas rather than optimising model calibrations.
This role requires an actuary who can demonstrate excellent judgement, commercial outlook, interpretative skills rather than a handle turner.
This role sits in a small team and has a significant influence on the running of the business from a strategic perspective. You will ideally be a senior qualified actuary with relevant experience in influencing decisions on capital allocation decisions.
