Job Description Apply: From Pensions to GI – (Snr) Actuarial Analyst
This unique role will provide actuarial support to the Management and Commercial business units across this highly successful and well-known General Insurance company.
As a newly created position that has been created as the result of growth, the role will span across 3 main areas; Profitability, Planning & Forecasting and Reserving.
Profitability - In this part of the role, you will support the team with the quarterly business review which the UK CEO will present to Group to drive profitability. An interesting part of the role where you will be liaising with different parts of the business units from actuarial, finance, claims etc and get an understanding of what Exec needs to know and why they need to know it.
Planning - For this part of the role you will be challenging the budget loss ratios and making sure everything looks reasonable. Understanding if the business should be expanding into other areas and if they have the right mix of premiums.
Reserving - This is not your traditional BAU reserving, but more bringing together Underwriting committee exhibits and MI together in the Reserves and supporting the relationships with external agents.
This is a fantastic, non-traditional role that will give great exposure to senior stakeholders across the business and give you the opportunity to understand how the exec team works.
Candidates from a UK pensions consulting background will happily be considered – you should have a 1st class degree or 2.1, be making good progress with the actuarial exams, have strong communication skills as you’ll be interacting with multiple people and teams, and will be able to work in London. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship cannot be offered.
