Job Description Apply: Part-time or full-time
My client is a fantastic company culturally, with great people and a focus on career development and progression for all. Compared with other mid-sized consultancies, they are a little smaller than most, which makes it even easier for them to create opportunities around the individual.
There are opportunities for people at all levels to really shape things, influence changes and improvements, and innovate. Most people are generalists and work on corporate and trustee clients, as well as other project work e.g. liability management exercises. You can specialise if you wish, but most enjoy the broader range of work.
They are a very open and flexible employer. Part-time candidates, please apply, and also people who are taking exams at a slower pace, or who have put them on hold/stopped altogether. It's very much about you and the skills and experience you bring – not how quickly you qualified.
In the general consulting teams, roles are available at part-qualified level (ideally checking level but could be those looking to step up to become checkers in future), nearly/newly qualified level right through to experienced actuaries with several years PQE. If you happen to live by their offices then you can use them as much as you like, but you can also work from home and only go in if/when needed.
They are also a leader in the GMP Equalisation space. I know every consultancy could say the same right now, but where most are treating GMPE as a technical project, for this company it is very much a commercial opportunity. Have a look into their high-end tech solution, look at the brand new tools and models their actuaries are developing, or talk to them about the huge amount of new business they have been winning recently due to the quality of their work and their unique approach. GMPE isn’t only for technical people – you can also get involved in new business meetings, networking with professional trustees and other types of work you may not expect. Roles are again available at several different levels (even if you have friends in Admin looking to move into consulting!), and prior GMP experience isn’t essential.
