Job content

Participate in quarterly Reserving process for our Client as part of the Non-Life Reserving team. Ensure that the reserving process is completed within scheduled deadlines with continuous quality improvement for all Global non-life business. This includes quarterly reserve indications, estimates of ultimate technical results by segment and underwriting year, related data management, booking and reconciliation of selected reserves, maintaining an appropriate documentation of processes and procedures, providing summary reports and management information, and meeting obligations for required internal, US GAAP, and local accounting reporting and audits.
 

Help develop proficiency in the Global Reserving team with the reserving process data management, actuarial theory underlying reserving analyses and general knowledge of reinsurance. Participate in (and/or lead for Senior position) selected projects to improve the reserving process and enhance the feedback loop with the business through continuous and effective communication with underwriting, claims and pricing teams.
 

Be responsible for the monitoring of quarterly SoX process relating to the financial close and liaise with external auditors to provide data required for their quarterly/year-end procedures.

Requirements

  • Up to 4 years of experience reserving or pricing non-life reinsurance business or related actuarial experience. (Greater than 5 years experience for Senior position)
  • Undergradute degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or a related field
  • Progress towards a professional actuarial certification (Recent attainment of actuarial certification for senior position)
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English are necessities
  • Highly motivated, team-oriented, and adaptable
  • Strong IT and data management skills including the use of visual basic and MS Office. Knowledge of Business Objects reporting would be an advantage.
