Job Description Apply: Senior Actuary Reserving GI

In this role, you will lead strategic activities designed to shape the global GI Actuarial Function, including application of streamlined actuarial processes and restructuring of the global reserving effort in order to improve business results. Furthermore you will provide thought leadership on portfolios with a moderate to high level of complexity / diversity.

As a Senior Actuary your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Provide professional actuarial support and advice to the Group Chief Actuary and to actuarial business partners including insights into underlying performance and implications for the business
  • Ensure best-practice reserving techniques are available and used by reserving actuaries, globally
  • Ensure that processes and standards are consistent with internal actuarial policies and guidance and, where relevant, compliant with regulations
  • Deputize for the central team Pillar Leads as needed
  • Support global talent management & people development activities
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to less experienced actuaries
  • Coordinate, prepare and perform actuarial analyses including loss and premium projections, consultation on actuarial models, and risk based capital issues
  • Lead actuarial services related to risk based capital model development, parameterization and allocation activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor´s degree in Mathematics/Statistics
  • Fully qualified actuary in a recognized actuarial body
  • 7 or more years of experience in related field
  • Knowledge of insurance industry coupled with experience gained in the insurance sector and in multiple functions and Business Units
  • Advanced understanding of actuarial reserving and pricing concepts
  • Experience with statistics and actuarial modeling
  • Pronounced analytical thinking
  • Proficient English language skills (written and spoken)
  • Effective communicator
