Within this role you will manage the production of regular refreshes of the projected combined solvency/capital position over the Plan horizon and the longer term, assessing impact on dividend outlook against all relevant metrics and assist with design and implement a robust SHF liquidity plan for UKLAP & FLL, producing regular refreshes of the projected liquidity position over the Plan horizon and longer term, assessing impact on dividend outlook. You will develop, refresh and manage to the risk appetite framework as appropriate, for solvency, dividend and  UKLAP/FLL SHF liquidity.

You will ensure the thorough integration of the Capital Planning and Projection processes for the h-Av and h-FL business into combined processes. and will maintain a complete log of all management actions included in the Capital Plan, under development or under consideration, assessing their impacts against all relevant metrics You will also manage delivery of the annual SST exercise (incorporating war-gaming, Scenarios, RSTs, management actions and Recovery Planning in accordance with the SST risk standard), providing analysis and insight into the output and ensuring this is applied in solvency management and planning. Produce regular reviews of the validity of results over the year, rebasing or refreshing the analysis as necessary. 

Ideally you will have the following skills and expereices:

  • Educated to degree level with a relevant professional financial qualification. Qualified Actuary preferred but actuarial skillset required.
  • Thorough understanding of Capital metrics, in particular Solvency II.
  • Capital Planning and projection techniques .
  • Understanding of capital management levers and optimisation techniques.
  • Operation of SHF Liquidity.
  • Risk appetite formulation and calibration.
  • SST, including RST and Recovery Planning.
  • Excellent excel, report writing and communication skills.
  • An understanding of the risks faced by a 1st line function and the controls in place to manage & mitigate these risks.
  • A sound understanding of the Aviva business, in particular the complex fund structures.
  • Excellent working knowledge of professional standards and codes
