Based in Surrey with some international travel within The UK and

India as required

Main Purpose of the Job

Risk Manager, reporting to the Director of Audit and Risk in development, implementing, embedding and continuous improvement of the revised Enterprise-wide Risk management (ERM) framework

You will provide a central contact point for the BPO client Assurance, client reporting and client change requests.

You will also provide SME support for adhoc projects as required by the Senior management team, clients or the parent company.

They are ideally looking for someone with a background in life or pensions, good stakeholder management skills, conduct risk experience and a strong interest in ERM.


Summary of the Role:

Take ownership of the day to day operation of the Risk Management Framework
Provide advice and challenge to the SMT and their direct reports in relation to risk reporting, risk assessment and mitigation.
Support the implementation of regular risk reporting to the SMT, Risk Management & Audit Committee (RMAC) and the Board
Proactively maintain a current understanding of industry good practice and regulatory standards and make proportionate recommendations for continuous improvement including requirements in relation to Conduct Risk.
Support the Director of Audit and Risk in her identification and assessment of external threats
Provide a central contact point for clients and provide them with day to day assurance and risk reporting in line with agreed SLA's and any formal change requests.
Manage ad hoc projects to support the Director of Audit & Risk and the SMT in their management of risk through the development and improvement of control frameworks.
Support the COO and the Corporate finance team in the development, maintenance and review of Stress Testing and Wind down analysis.
Provide risk management and control consultancy support to clients the parent company as required.
Provide SME consultancy support to the business.

ERM Framework refresh

Our Board has approved a plan to review our Enterprise-wide Risk management (ERM) framework with a view to redefine the core elements of the framework:

Support the delivery of specific works streams such as :

Restating of Business Risk Appetite statements
Rewriting of Board Policies
Identification of key Risk metrics and Risk Indicators
Establishing more 'risk based' MI for senior management consumption, etc.

Support the efficient running of workshops with Business participants
Support the development of necessary Risk and Control documentation
any other tasks required to be undertaken as per business requirements.

Conduct risk

Support the delivery of specific works streams in relation to embedding of our Conduct Risk Management framework.DU each week:  20


Person Specification

Good working knowledge of ERM frameworks

Good understanding of external ERM standards such as ISO 31000, IRM Risk Management Standard, COSO ERM Standard etc.

Good understanding of Conduct Risk obligations

Extensive Risk management experienced gained within Financial Services

Experience in developing implementing Risk management related change programmes.


Salary range:  £55k to £65k per annum plus benefits

Pension – matching to 6%, car allowance, BUPA cover, bonus (dependant on targets) and salary reviews in September/October
