Job Description

Our client is seeking a part-qualified non-life actuary with proven data handling skills and experience of databases to support the reserving and the capital modelling workstreams.

You will support the estimation of the quarterly statutory claim reserves for all relevant business. As part of this, you will be responsible for calculating both best estimate and prudent reserves, based on the Board’s desired level of prudence, whilst assisting in the preparation of the quarterly claims reserve valuation report for presentation to the Risk Committee and, as appropriate, the Board.

You will also support the review and regular improvement of the reserving process, optimising the reserving granularity and reviewing and enhancing the actuarial methods used.

In addition, you will support the estimation of ultimate loss ratios by reserving segment and accident period, whilst assisting with the quarterly SII standard formula capital calculations and quarterly determination of Solvency II technical provisions.

Experience of personal lines insurance, alongside a working knowledge of VBA and SAS, are desirable.

Please contact us to discuss this vacancy or for an informal discussion regarding your career goals. We are very happy to perform bespoke research on your behalf.
