Job Description Apply: Pricing Analyst

To support Pricing Managers in the evolution and development of retail pricing activities across product lines:

  • Conducting pricing analysis across multiple projects using internal and external data sources, working on acquisition, renewal and campaigns/offers pricing.
  • Conducting competitor pricing & product analysis, in partnership with Business Insight teams.
  • Working closely with Pricing Managers and Commercial colleagues to drive product volumes and value.
  • Increasing the profitability of the business and driving a culture where customers are treated fairly and are properly informed.



  • Produce accurate and insightful pricing analysis under the direction of Pricing Managers.
  • Ensure strong understanding of products including pricing, terms & conditions, market positioning, customer needs and competitive positioning.
  • Apply the pricing policy, principles and standards in all pricing activity.
  • Support Pricing Managers in activity associated with pricing recommendations and decisions such as production of pricing governance materials, liaison with marketing & digital teams, and contribution to construction of business cases and financial models/forecasting.
  • Support Pricing Managers in ensuring that pricing activity is consistent with FCA requirements and has customer fairness at its core.
  • Ensure strong understanding of data sources and perform data reconciliation and reasonableness tests in connection with each project/task undertaken.
  • Communicate effectively with pricing managers and other colleagues using verbal and written techniques, ensuring that technical information is presented in a manner appropriate to the range of potential audiences.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Educated to honours degree level (upper second class) potentially with progress towards relevant professional qualification.
  • Strong software skills, such as Excel, SAS and/or modelling software such as EMBlem
  • Developing understanding of insurance principles with a focus on consumer lines products, preferably demonstrated through experience within general insurance markets
  • Good communication, written and verbal, skill-set with ability to vary style when communicating with data technicians, pricing experts and a wider business audience.
  • A proven eye for detail with focus on data reconciliation, controls and governance and good applied understanding of data protection legislation.
