Job Description Apply: Portfolio Pricing Manager
As Portfolio Pricing Manager you will be responsible for pricing household insurance and the SME property and packages products (Small-Medium enterprises: shops; offices; property owners; pubs, hotels & restaurants and tradesman). You will need have a variety of skills including; team leadership, business/commercial understanding, data analysis, getting to the root of issues and communicating complex business dynamics in terms that ‘front line’ colleagues and clients can readily understand.
What will the role involve?
Recruiting, managing, coaching, developing and motivating a team of Pricing Consultants and Analysts.
Using statistical analysis including working with complex or partial data, to produce timely, accurate, insightful and commercially appropriate outputs.
Recommending price changes which meet business needs and requirements.
Specifying, building and implementing agreed prices.
Contributing to the development and implementation of new and/or enhanced products and customer propositions and the management of underwriting portfolios.
Determining how individual schemes are running in relation to expected results and other similar schemes.
Producing models to explore the key factors determining whether customers are likely to convert and/or lapse
Recommend pricing for new deals and schemes taking into account differences in cover, eligibility and expected scheme experience.
What do you need?
Proven experience in or an aptitude for a pricing leadership role with significant exposure to data, business modelling and associated quantitative analytical work.
A degree in a numerate subject such as Maths, Statistics, Operational Research or a degree with a significant mathematical content .
Experience of team coaching and leadership
Experience of Data Management, manipulation and statistical analysis
An Aptitude for using and developing spreadsheets, databases and pricing techniques
Project management
MS Access and/or SAS programming and/or Emblem (advantageous but not essential, training available)
Consultancy, Influencing & Negotiating skills
