Job Description Apply: Head of Financial Reporting Centre

This is a senior leadership opportunity, reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting Operations at Group level.

You will be responsible for a team of 50 people, which includes actuarial students and qualified actuaries. The team is responsible for all actuarial reporting - Peak 1, Peak 2, Solvency II reporting, IFRS and the internal Economic Capital reporting. You will have 7 direct reports.

This is not a hands on technical actuarial role, you will not be rolling up your sleeves and getting involved with running models, crunching numbers etc. It is very much a strategic leadership role. You will work with the rest of the senior leadership team to help deliver the company’s ongoing transformation program – a journey to make the business more efficient, to improve processes, transform systems, all with appropriate risks and controls in place. You will be a sponsor for and owner of this strategic change.

You will be working on a peer to peer basis with the AFH, the CRO and the Group Actuary. You are likely to have at least 5-10 years PQE and will have experience of working in a commercial/strategic capacity.

Candidates will have good solid technical skills within life insurance reporting. You will also be a strong leader who is able to continue the good work the leadership team is doing. You will have significant actuarial experience gained either in a Life office or consultancy, and will have strong commercial/strategic outlook rather than purely technical experience.

This is a permanent opportunity, but due to long notice periods, there is also an interim opportunity which is likely to last 6-9 months on a FTC basis (not a day rate).
