Job content

  • For our Analytics, Pricing & Structuring Team APS (Analytics, Pricing & Structuring) is a team of specialists who analyse our clients underwriting risks for property and casualty lines and price reinsurance transactions.
  • A central unit within the Specialities Division and Underwriting, APS drives the development of our Structured Solutions initiative and assists the underwriting departments and senior management in optimising our clients portfolio.

Underwriting-related functions:

  • Modelling and pricing property reinsurance treaties in several European countries
  • Supporting our clients underwriters in business development during client and market visit

Portfolio management:

  • Monitoring our clients accumulation control
  • Contributing to our clients portfolio management and retrocession analysis

Analytics and expertise:

  • Developing new approaches to pricing catastrophe derivatives
  • Actively participating in meetings/workshops in the Cat modelling environment to maintain APS expertise in natural-hazard modelling and enhance presence in the scientific community

Requirements

  • University degree in a science subject
  • (preferably climatology, meteorology, geology, hydrology or physical geography).
  • Good knowledge of statistics and probabilistic modelling.
  • Strong computing and programming skills;
  • Advanced user of Excel, Access and SQL.
  • Knowledge of natural-perils modelling and/or sound knowledge of a Cat modelling tool (RMS, AIR, EQE)
  • Initial experience in reinsurance desirable
  • Good communication skills, team-oriented, flexible, reliable.
  • Proactive and innovative in solving problems.
  • Team player who enjoys working with internal and external clients.
  • Sound knowledge of English, good knowledge of French and/or German an asset.
