I am recruiting for a very unique opportunity with one of the most prestigious consultancies in the world. This consultancy has significant plans to grow over the next few years and become number one within the actuarial space. For that reason, they are bringing on some top quality actuaries to join their well-established non-life actuarial team. A very special role has been created in a niche team within the wider non-life actuarial team, which is the Capital Optimisation team. This is a fairly novel space but at the same time not a greenfield proposition. You would be coming into an established infrastructure. Business Development is not required as they have a lot of work but of course you could generate new business if you like. Travel is not required either but if you wish to get involved in more projects that require traveling, the option is there. 

This is a very unusual and interesting role where they would like to see actuaries who have experience of working with rating agencies or investment banks or in the M&A or capital markets space. It’s much more strategic and diverse than going into a traditional Capital Modelling role. You will be helping out clients with regards to managing their balance sheets and how to utilise their capital. Your contact within your clients would mainly be CFOs. Within the consultancy, you would have interaction with other specialist teams such as transactions advisory – financial modelling. You will have the opportunity to shape this role according to your interests within this area.
