Want to move from Reserving or Pricing to a Capital role? or are you looking to expand your capital knowledge whilst also gaining exposure to reserving? 

My client has a fantastic opportunity for an Actuarial Analyst to join their well-established team based in London.

This is one of those one-off opportunities where a reputable insurer are open to hiring someone from a Capital, Reserving or Pricing background!  

To apply you MUST have at least 1 years' General Insurance experience in the Lloyd's Market. 

Key Responsibilities

This is a role within the corporate actuarial team. As well as working closely with other members of the corporate actuarial team, this role will work closely with the divisional actuaries, capital modelling team, and non-actuaries.

- Assiting the Capital & Planning Actuary in developing premium risk calibration tools, ensuring standards are met on all classes and the timely submission of capital runs.

- Support the wider Corporate Actuarial and Reserving team by performing analyses as and when required

- Ensuring premium risk methodology and processes are fit for purpose and documentation is kept up to date.

To provide timely and accurate analysis for management decision making, including: 

  • analysing business plan datasets and potential strategy changes for the business planning team and assess the impact of the approach to capital allocation
  • performing primary validation activities and assisting in drafting in validation memos across all legal entities for premium and reserving risk
  • performing relevant underlying analysis and drafting sections of the ORSA and Actuarial Function Report

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Degree level education
  • Taking actuarial qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
  • Strong IT skills – Excel, VBA, Access or SQL
  • Skilled in time management with multiple deliverables

Desirable

Igloo / ResQ
Capital model parameterisation and validation
